I’ve spent forty years pursuing one question: How do you help the body heal without compromise?
Homeopath. Chiropractor. Chemist by temperament. Animal lover.
The first person in the United States to earn a PhD in homeopathy.
The one who put three homeopathic biotherapies in a single bottle, he saw a possibility others had overlooked.
A chiropractor and a chemist.
An animal lover. I grew up certain I’d be a veterinarian.
I married my college sweetheart, Helen, in 1979, and we’ve been rescuing dogs and horses ever since.
I throw pots. I practice yoga and natural horsemanship.
I’m the guy who takes the road less travelled.
Above all, I am a learner and a sharer.
And I believe, as I suspect you do, that we have far more say over our own health than we have been led to believe. That has been my path. It is what I want to help you do.
Healing has never been about fighting the body. It is about supporting it.
Heal Without Harm.
Modern medicine got very good at silencing symptoms. I was always more interested in a different question: what happens when you support the body’s own ability to regulate, adapt and repair?
That question led me to chiropractic, then to homeopathy, then to the biotherapies, and finally to the bioformulas.
The turning point in my career didn’t happen in a clinic. It happened in a classroom.
By 1995, the demands of running Los Angeles’ first comprehensive integrative health clinic had begun to overshadow the work I loved most: helping patients heal. I took a sabbatical to return to the study and practice of homeopathy on a deeper level. It was there that I heard Dr. Trevor Cook, homeopath to the Queen Mother, speak about biotherapies. In that moment, I knew I had discovered something that would change the way I practiced medicine.
There were three biotherapies. One made from young plant parts. One from mineral-rich rocks. One from healthy organ tissue. Each had been used successfully for generations.
Yet, after more than two centuries of homeopathy, no one had ever combined all three in a single formula. No one had even asked what might happen if they were combined together.
I went back to my graduated cylinders and Erlenmeyer flasks. I started blending fig tree buds with silver birch seeds, then adding lepidolite, and finally hypothalamus extract, bringing together all three biotherapies in a single formula.
Then I gave them to patients whose chronic conditions had stopped responding to everything else.
They responded.
The experiment had become a new way of practicing medicine.
That was the beginning of the bioformulas.
The moments that shaped how I practice, in order. Scroll sideways through the years.

Fifty years of questions, and it comes down to something simple. Remedies that remind your body how to repair itself.
Find yours. →My goal has always been to help people get better. But not long after I started at Westside, I realized something that changed the way I practiced.
Even when a patient didn’t get better with me, I had still helped them. I had become part of their healing journey. Sometimes I was the practitioner who helped them recover. Sometimes it was the chiropractor, acupuncturist, nutritionist, herbalist, or physician they saw before me or after me.
What matters is not who gets the credit. What matters is the patient.
You.
Healing is rarely the result of one practitioner. More often, it’s the result of many people contributing at the right time. If I move you one step closer to health, then I’ve done my job.
On my first morning back from sabbatical, my very first patient came in with severe sciatica.
Before my sabbatical, I would have adjusted him and sent him home. Instead, I wanted to know whether homeopathy alone could help.
So I prescribed a remedy.
His sciatica disappeared.
That day, I realized something profound: neither I nor my patients were limited to a single modality. Chiropractic, homeopathy, acupuncture, herbal medicine—each offers a different path to healing.
What matters isn’t the modality. What matters is finding the approach that gives the body what it needs to heal.
Healing doesn’t belong to a single modality, because there is never only one way in.
Helen and I moved to Santa Fe in 2016. Not for the dogs, the open skies and the nature, we had all of that in Santa Monica, but to bring horses into our lives in a more meaningful way.
Within a year I had earned my Animal Chiropractic Certification, started working with Assistance Dogs of the West, joined the board of the New Mexico Center for Therapeutic Riding, and adopted more Springer Spaniels.
Then I found out my clients had quietly been giving my human formulas to their dogs and horses, and getting results. So I went back to the lab and did it properly. Canine first, then the equine line: horses, donkeys, ponies, mules.
Same biotherapies. Same standards. Chemistry built for the animal taking them.
The kid who assisted a vet on Long Island had come full circle.
I am not telling you what is right. I am sharing what is possible.
My goal is to help you take control of your own body and your own destiny, physically, mentally and spiritually, so you can live your best life. The same philosophy guides the care I create for you, your dog and your horse. Everything I have built over the past four decades has been in service of one idea:
Healing should not cost you something else.
Dr. Stuart Garber is a chiropractor, homeopath, researcher, educator, certified animal chiropractor and the creator of Dr. Garber’s bioformulas. He has practised integrative healthcare for more than 40 years.
Dr. Garber graduated summa cum laude from the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic and became the first practitioner in the United States to receive a PhD in homeopathy. He is a past President of the California Homeopathic Medical Society and a certified animal chiropractor.
Dr. Garber’s bioformulas are proprietary formulations that combine gemmotherapy, lithotherapy, organotherapy and homeopathy to support the body’s natural regulatory systems.
Yes. He continues to research and develop bioformulas, consults with healthcare practitioners on cases, and provides chiropractic care for dogs and horses in the Santa Fe, New Mexico area.
After decades of clinical practice he wanted a way to support people with chronic health concerns using several complementary biotherapies together, rather than relying on any single approach.
